AYLESBURY: OXFORD ROAD & CHURCHILL AVENUE EVENING DIVERSIONS

Please note the current Oxford Road post-1900 road closures will again take place on Monday1st & Tuesday 2nd September. The road should be open on the evening of Wednesday 3rd.

From Wednesday 3rd September until Thursday 11th September, [excluding “weekends”] Churchill Avenue will be closed from 1900 meaning service 9 cannot return to normal route. The 9 should maintain the current evening diversion, i.e. via Walton Street, Gyratory, Chestnut Crescent, Taylor Road to regain normal route at Church Square.

Apart from the Haddenham Sunday closure [on 31st] and the Buckingham, London Road closure on 1st to 3rd, that should be it for the week but note there maybe a daytime closure on Thursday or Friday of the Marroway in Weston Turville – if this occurs, the 50 will need to run direct via the A413 between Marroway and Worlds End.

CLOSURE OF PART OF LONDON ROAD, BUCKINGHAM

From Monday 1st September until Wednesday 3rd September, London Road in Buckingham will be closed between the by-pass/ring road and Swan swimming pool.

Service 60 will need to divert towards Buckingham/Maids Moreton by turning right at the roundabout after Tesco along the A421 then left at the next roundabout on to the A413, then left again at the next roundabout onto Bourton Road. Then turn left into Bourtonville and right back onto London Road and normal route.

From Maids Moreton/Buckingham bus stand, the reverse of the outward diversion should be used.

With the extra distance of this diversion and the tightness of running time on service 60, it is expected that service punctuality on the 60 will suffer during the duration of these roadworks.

DIVERSION SERVICE 280 – SUNDAY 31st August

Stanbridge Road in Haddenham will be closed all day on Sunday 31st August 2014 due to utility works by UK Power Networks.

Service 280 will divert via Churchway in both directions, thus bus stops in Stanbridge Road and Woodways will not be in use on that day.

Drivers are asked to observe the bus stops sited on the diversion route [as used previously by the old 280 route].

DIVERSION: SAPPHIRE 280 IN AYLESBURY & SERVICE 9.

Due to re-surfacing works in Oxford Road, Aylesbury from Wednesday 20th August through to the end of August [excluding weekends and the public holiday], the road will be shut from 19:00 onwards until last bus.

Service 280 will need to divert via Gatehouse Road, Bicester Road, Griffin Lane and Coldharbour Way going towards Oxford and vice-versa towards Aylesbury. driver should observe the bus stops in Coldharbour Way near the junction with Oxford Road.

Service 9 should operate  from the Bus Station via The Gyratory, Old Stoke Road, Chestnut Crescent, Taylor Road to Church Square and normal route; return from Stoke Mandeville Hospital via the same route in reverse for journeys that serve Walton Court or direct visa Mandeville Road as usual for all “direct” evening journeys.

When the Oxford Road work is completed, Churchill Avenue will have evening closures – details to follow later.

Also note that on 19th & 20th August during the daytime, the A413 southeast of Wendover will be having re-surfacing works controlled by temporary traffic lights/boards affecting service 55.

Thats all until 30th August – when we have more diversions so full details after the PH weekend.

DIVERSION IN MILTON KEYNES: SERVICE 150 – 11th 14th AUGUST

From Monday 11th August until Thursday 14th August, between 0930 and 1630, Ashland roundabout in Milton Keynes will be closed for re-surfacing.

This is the roundabout at the junction of Saxon Street and Groveway so will affect our service 150 – and the 70 service as well.

After turning off the A5 trunk road and going along Bletcham Way as usual, the 150 will need to go straight across at the large Denbigh roundabout, continuing along Bletcham Way to the next roundabout, Granby, and turning right [second exit] into Grafton Street. Then second exit at Redmoor roundabout into Grafton Street and then right at the next roundabout, Bleak Hall, into Standing way, then left at the next roundabout, Coffee Hall, into Saxon Street and as normal route to MK Rail Station. The reverse of this diversion should be followed for journeys back to Aylesbury.

The stops at MK Stadium will therefore not be served.

Journeys affected are 0840 ex Aylesbury to 1440 ex Aylesbury inclusive and 1007 ex MK Rail Station to 1605 ex MK rail Station inclusive.

We have some significant road closure s in the Leighton Buzzard area affecting our services in the coming fortnight.

Firstly:-

Woburn Road, Heath& Reach: Wednesday 13th August: 0900 to 1530 – ROAD CLOSED – SERVICE 150 will need to divert as previously used via Shenley Hill Road, Mile Tree Road, Eastern Way and A5 in both directions, journeys affected 0840 to 1440 ex Aylesbury and 0902 to 1405 ex MK Rail Station

Secondly:

Hockliffe Road – whole length: Monday 11th August to Saturday 16th August – ROAD CLOSED 0900 to 1530 – SERVICES 32, 33, 34 and 35 affected. NO SERVICE TO MEADOW WAY/APPENINE WAY. Services 32/33 via Stanbridge Road, Weston Avenue, Brooklands Drive, Russell Way loop, Brooklands Drive, Stanbridge Road.

Thirdly:

Brooklands Drive & Highfield Road – whole length: Monday 18th August through to ????. 0800 to 1800, i.e. whole operating day. Services 32 and 33 unable to access Brooklands Drive from 18th August and expected to last until Monday 25th August [a PH] – just do Stanbridge Road, Weston Avenue, Stanbridge Road. Highfield Road is additionally quoted as being closed from Tuesday 26th August to Friday 29th August so assuming Brooklands Drive is open, just direct via Brooklands and miss out the Highfield Road/Russell Way loop.

STOP CLOSURE: OXFORD CITY CENTRE – MONDAY 4th AUGUST, evening

Due to utility works, there will be temporary traffic lights and buss top closures in Oxford High Street at Carfax and in St.Aldates on Monday 4th August from 19:00 until last bus. This work may encroach onto Tuesday morning as well but will be over by 07:00 at the latest.

During the works, our stop at I2 [that’s “eye-2”, not 12!] at Carfax going towards the Rail Station will be closed off. Service 280 during this period should set down and pick up at stop I1 [outside the Nat West Bank just before the pedestrian lights prior to our normal stop].

CLOSURE OF TRING HIGH STREET: 1630 to 1730, MONDAY 4th AUGUST

Due to WW1 commemorations, Tring High Street will be closed between Brook Street roundabout and the roundabouts at the junction with the A41/Lower Icknield Way, from 1630 to 1730 on Monday 4th August.

Service 61 towards Luton should not be affected but if running late or the closure times are altered, should use the A41 Tring by-pass then off of at the Wigginton turn off, along London Road, past Tesco and right at the mini-roundabout by the Robin Hood into Brook Street and normal route.

Again the 61 from Luton may just get through but if not use the reverse of the diversion above.

Our service 500 journeys should not be affected so no doubt Hemel garage will inform their drivers of what diversion to use – presumably Brook Street, Wingrave Road to New Mill then Upper Icknield Way?

SERVICE 55 EVENING JOURNEY, MONDAY 4th AUGUST 2014

Chesham Broadway will be closed from 20:00 on Monday 4th August for a WW1 commemoration so the evening service 55 will need to turn at the roundabout on the Chesham ring road and layover and pick up at the buss top in Red Lion Street.

CLOSURE OF JOHNSON DRIVE ON DASH DIRECT – Leighton Buzzard

There is a closure of Johnson Drive at Sandhills programmed for Monday 28th July, Tuesday 29th July and Wednesday 30th July from 0800 to 1700.

Dash bus should stay on Billington Road, circumnavigate the roundabout at the A505 by-pass and then return via Billington Road to Chartmoor Road.

The plan is that somewhere on Billington Road between the Johnson Drive roundabout and the traffic lights there will be a temporary stop for us to use. If the stop is not there then we would ask drivers to stop on request.
