The A413 in the Padbury area will be closed for re-surfacing on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September.
On Saturday 5th the diversion for services 60 and X60 will be from Winslow, Buckingham Road, right into Great Horwood Road, through Great Horwood village, Nash Road then turn left onto the A421, , straight ahead at the roundabout on the outskirts of Buckingham then left at the London Road roundabout to serve the normal Buckingham Tesco stops as usual, then normal route.
Reverse of this on return to Aylesbury.
Thus bus stops after Winslow, Station Road through to Benthill Cottages will not be served in either direction.
Secklow Gate in Central Milton Keynes will be closed southbound between 0930 and 1630 on Thursday 3rd September and Friday 4th September.
Service X60 on departure from Milton Keynes will need to turn left from Midsummer Boulevard into Secklow Gate northbound then left into Silbury boulevard, left into Saxon Gate and right into Midsummer Boulevard and normal route.
Service 150 and service 70 will need to go on the same diversion but go straight ahead in Saxon Gate at the junction with Midsummer Boulevard and then straight ahead back onto normal route at the junction with Childs Way.
No stops affected.
The bus stop at Thame Co-op can be “un-suspended” as soon as possible as the work is now not taking place.
Apparently this decision was made at the end of last week as BT had not done some preparation work so the electric works could not go ahead. But the person who would inform us of this was on holiday!
Heath Road in Heath & Reach in the vicinity of the Star Inn is due to be closed on Friday and Saturday 28th & 29thAugust from 20:00 until 06:00. No problem with the Saturday as last bus comes through at 1951 ex H&R Shops; but on Friday evening the bus is due at H&R shops at 19:59 so should be in the closure area at 20:00 to 20:01 so may not make it.
If the road is closed diversion would be from Woburn Road via right into Linslade Road at the bend, then left at the crossroads into Plantation Road, re-joining normal route at junction of Plantation Road and Heath Road.
Queen Street/Bonn Square in Oxford City Centre will re-open at 20:00 tonight so service 280 after that time from Oxford Rail Station can revert to normal route.
Please advise drivers that due to the time of the closure [i.e a weekend] it may be a while before all the diversion signs are removed but the road closed signs should be gone immediately.
Oxfordshire CC have informed me that the bus stop layby and stop at Thame High Street, Co-op, i.e. the stop towards Oxford, will be closed from Monday 24th August through to Friday 28th August due to utility works on behalf of UK power networks to install a new electricity feed..
It directs intending passengers to the alternative bus stops at North street and at The Old Thatch. Drivers will need to wait for time at The Old Thatch if necessary .
We are informed that the Stratford Road, Buckingham closures will now take place on Friday 21stand Monday 24th August.
Icknield Way between Marsworth and Pitstone roundabout will be totally closed to all traffic from 0930 to 1530 on Thursday 20 August and Friday 21 August, thereby resulting in service 61 requiring to divert during these hours.
From Aylesbury normal route to Bulbourne then at the roundabout after crossing the West Coast Main Line, instead of turning left, go straight ahead and then take the next turning on the left, Vicarage Road. At the roundabout, in Pitstone, turn right back onto normal route. Observe the bus stop just before Pitstone roundabout if requested to do so.
From Dunstable use the reverse of the above diversion, again stopping at the bus stop in Vicarage Road if requested to do so.
This will mean there will be no off peak service to Castlemead estate on these two days.
