SERVICE 280: CLOSURE OF PART OIF LONDON ROAD, WHEATLEY + TEMP TRAFFIC LIGHTS IN CHURCH ROAD

London Road in Wheatley, between the junctions of Old London Road and Old London Road, will be closed for re-surfacing from Monday 25th July for an anticipated three days. Thus service 280 will need to divert in both directions via Old London Road in both directions and bus stops at The Avenue and Ambrose Rise will not be served.

So overall in Wheatley I would think we can probably expect delays for the forthcoming few weeks.

LEIGHTON BUZZARD TOWN SERVICES 32/34/35: CLOSURE OF CHURCHILL ROAD

From 08.00 until 18.00 on Monday 18th July through to Friday 22nd July, Churchill Road in Leighton Buzzard will be closed for road re-surfacing works.

Services 34 and 35 plus evening peak journeys on service 32 will therefore be unable to serve this road and will need to divert via Clarence Road thereby omitting Churchill Road and Nelson Road.

More 10 of 23 EDLESBOROUGH & EATON BRAY CARNIVALS: SATURDAY 2nd JULY

On Saturday 2nd July 2016 between 11.30 and 13.30, the roads through Edlesborough and Eaton Bray will be closed for the two villages annual carnivals, so service 61 will need to divert.

Journeys at 12.05 ex Aylesbury and 12.00 ex Dunstable will need to divert. The 10.30 ex Aylesbury should just get through if running on time.

Diversion from Aylesbury: at Travellers rest roundabouts go straight ahead along B489; at next roundabout turn left into Harling Road then second right into Dunstable Road, ahead into church Road and right at the end back onto normal route at Totternhoe, Church End.

Diversion from Dunstable: at Totternhoe Church End, turn left into Church Road at the sharp bend and drop off anyone for Totternhoe, then straight ahead along Church Road that becomes Dunstable Road, left at the end into Harling Road then right at the roundabout onto the B489, then straight ahead at the Travellers Rest roundabout back onto normal route.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS: HEADINGTON – SERVICE 280

Due to Thames Water sewer repairs there will be temporary traffic lights in London Road at Headington 24 hours a day from Monday 27th June until Friday 15th July. These will be manually controlled by two traffic marshals from 07.00 until 19.00 each day.

I would anticipate that these temporary lights are going to result in delays to service 280.

LONG TERM 280 DIVERSION IN OXFORD CITY CENTRE – EASTBOUND ONLY from 6th JUNE

From Monday 6th June, Queen Street and Bonn Square in Oxford City Centre will be closed for until mid-November in connection with the development of the new Westgate Centre.

Buses on service 280 eastbound, i.e. from Oxford to Aylesbury will therefore need to divert from New Road via Castle Street, the building site, Old Greyfriars Street, Speedwell Street, St.Aldates to High Street and normal route. No bus stops will be missed on this diversion. However due to the lengthy diversion and the delays caused by the temporary traffic lights and the need to negotiate any delays through the building site, extra time has been added to the running time between Oxford Rail Station and Oxford High Street so the timetable and duties are revised from this date as attached.

There is no change to the route from Aylesbury to the Rail Station.

Note also that from approximately 13th June, the exact route through the building site will change as the development works move on Phase 4, so as needs demand, the road will be moved slightly to a revised alignment.

ROAD CLOSURES IN TRING: 20 – 24 MAY

There are two road closures in Tring for road re-surfacing.

Both are listed as “up to 2 days between 20th & 24th May with a re-visit between 10th & 14th June”. Assuming they will not work at weekends, the first closures should be up to 2 days out of Friday 20th may, Monday 23rd May & Tuesday 24th May. All closures are between 09.30 and 16.30.

First one: Aylesbury Road between Icknield Way and Park Road. Services 61 and 500 in both directions will need to divert from the roundabouts at the Tring by-pass via Icknield Way and then right into Christchurch Road and then left into Tring High Street and normal route, return via the reverse of the outward.

The second one is Station Road so the special “Tring School” 500 journeys in the afternoon will not be able to run via Station Road and Cow Lane – they will need to run via the normal route.

MK MARATHON: SUNDAY & MONDAT 1st & 2nd MAY

The MK Marathon is being held this coming Sunday & Monday, 1st & 2nd May. This will affect service 150 – also affected by road closures in LB!

Sunday 1st May:

This a 5k run and will be over by the time the first 150 gets to MK so no affect for us.

Monday 2nd May:

Saxon Street from the junction with Bletcham Way through to the junction with Groveway is closed all day. Various other parts of Saxon Street are closed through to midday. Parts of Midsummer Boulevard, Avebury Boulevard and Silbury Boulevard are closed through to midday.

Therefore the service 150 journeys at 09.00 & 10.00 ex Aylesbury and the 10.20 & 11.20 ex MK Rail Station should operate direct via Bletcham Way and Grafton Street in both directions between the Bletcham Way/Saxon Street roundabout and MK Rail Station, thus not serving the shops.

The rest of the service 150 journeys that day, from Aylesbury will be normal to Bletcham Way/Saxon Street roundabout, then straight ahead into Bletcham Way Street right at the roundabout into Grafton Street, 3rd exit at the next roundabout into Groveway, then first exit at the next roundabout into Saxon Way and normal route to MK Shops & Rail Station. On return from MK the reverse of the outward diversion  so along Saxon Street and then at Ashland Roundabout the 3rd exit onto Groveway, 2nd exit at next roundabout onto Grafton Street, 1st exit at next roundabout onto Bletcham Way, straight across at next roundabout [2nd exit] onto Bletcham Way and normal route.
