    e following changes will occur to Aylesbury services from w/c 4th November:

    Service 61 – due to the inability of certain modern, low floor buses to successfully negotiate the bridge at New Mill, service 61 will be re-routed way from it. From New Mill at Wingrave Road, turn right at the roundabout and continue straight ahead through Bulbourne, past the College Lake Nature Reserve across the traffic-light controlled bridge over the West Coast Main Line and at the roundabout turn left into Castlemead and follow the road through the industrial area and village to the junction with Lower Icknield Road and turn right onto the existing 61 route and through to Pitstone. Coming back to Aylesbury the new route is the same in reverse.

    Look out for new bus stop sitings in Castlemead, at College Lake and in Bulbourne. Castlemead will replace Marsworth as a fare stage on the farechart and the fares to and from will be as Marsworth is now. Other times on the route have not changed. Marsworth will no longer be served by the 61 but Bucks County Council have re-routed some of their contract service 163 journeys to serve the village instead – details from Bucks CC.

    Service 50 – the Monday to Friday 1815 ex Aylesbury journey that extends from Halton Camp to Ivinghoe will be re-routed away from Marsworth and through Castlemead as per the 61. The Saturday morning journey that starts from Ivinghoe and runs to Aylesbury via Halton Camp will similarly be re-routed via Castlemead instead of Marsworth.

    Service 200 – running time has been reduced between Tiddington and Thornhill Park & Ride so each of the six journeys has slightly revised timings and the morning journey that terminated at the High street now runs through to the Rail Station. No change to the 280, except the morning peak journey that commenced at the High Street, now starts at the Rail Station.

    Service 500 – the previous morning “dupe” between Berko and Aylesbury and reverse in the afternoon will now become official schoolday runs in their own right and times

    Queens Road in Thame will be closed for resurfacing for up to 5 days from 29th October until 2ndNovember. Only the section between Kingsey Road and Towersey Drive is closed, i.e. the bit of Queens Road they didn’t do in the summer.

    Services 40 and 120 will need to run direct along Kingsey Road to East Street and vice-versa.

    Service 123 can still access Towersey Drive by using Kingsey Road and left into Kings Road, right intoQueens Road and left into Towersey Drive [and the reverse of this on the return journey.

    Fares Review 21st October 2012

    Fares on Arriva services in Herts, Beds and Bucks excluding Milton Keynes, will rise on Sunday 21st October following increased operational costs and a huge Government rise on fuel tax for buses.

    With a 20% cut in the Bus Service Operators Grant combined with a planned 3p fuel duty rise, operating costs for bus services across the region  will go up and we have had to review our fares as a result of these changes.

    Single fares will increase along the following guidelines

    £1.00 – £2.70  increase by 10p or 20p
    £2.80 – £4.50 increase by 10p-30p
    £4.60 – increase by 20p-40p

    Return fares will increase too.

    There is no increase to our day, week and 4 weekly savers which still represent excellent value and can save you money if you travel regularly with us.  The 10% discount for purchasing 4 weekly tickets on line or via your mobile phone also remains.
