EVENING DIVERSION: SERVICE 280 – WEDNESDAY 19th OCTOBER for 3 NIGHTS IN DINTON AREA

Due to evening /overnight re-surfacing of the A418, service 280 will need to divert each evening from 19.00 until last bus on Wednesday 19th October, Thursday 20th October & Friday 21st October.

The A418 will be closed between Kings Cross and Dinton/Upton.

From Aylesbury, service 280 should run normal route to Stone, Rose & Crown, then at the pond at The Crossroads turn left into Bishopstone Road, setting down anyone who requires Stone/Upton/Dinton; then continue along Bishopstone Road to the cross roads and turn right onto Portway and carry on along this road until coming to the crossroads by Haddenham Medical Centre – then straight across and back on normal route. Buses from Oxford to run the reverse of this diversion, i.e. straight across at the Haddenham medical Centre crossroads, then turn left into Bishopstone Road on the outskirts of Stone and right at the pond back onto the A418 and normal route at Stone Village Hall.

Buses from Aylesbury to divert: 19.00 ex Bus Station through to last bus; buses from Oxford to divert: the 1736 ex Oxford rail station and all subsequent departures through to last bus.

Thus the following stops will NOT be served; Stone, Longfurlong; Upton Turn; Dinton Castle; Dinton New Road; Kings Cross, Haddenham – Rudds Lane / Stanbridge Close / Medical Centre.

Technically the road is closed until 06.00 the following morning but this is unlikely to occur in practice but the first two journeys and the dead bus to Thame may need to divert if the road is still closed.
