From Sunday 19th July 09, the first stage of the Local Authority Scheme “Transforming Oxford” will take effect.

There will be no change to the route or stopping places on Services 261 and 280 towards Speedwell Street and the Rail Station.

On Service 280 from the Rail Station, Speedwell Street and St Aldates will no longer be served. Buses will now run from New Road (where we observe stop D3) straight on into Bonn Square, Queen St and the High Street and then as current. The replacement stop for St Aldates will now be in the High Street at a new stop, L1, immediately after the junction with Turl Street. This is the routeing and stop we used temporarily last year when St Aldates was closed. We now serve the same City Centre stop as Brookes Bus to Wheatley so hopefully we compete with them on a more even footing.

Service 261 will now run dead from Speedwell Street via Old Greyfriars Street, Castle Street (i.e. the 280 route towards the Rail Station) then right onto Bonn Square, Queen Street, High Street to make a first pick up at new stop L1 in the High Street by Turl Street.

There will be a revised timetable on the 280 with some minor timing changes. You must ensure you do not leave the L1 stop in the High Street early, so please check the departure time on your duty boards.
