Leighton Buzzard outstation
Your guide to our out station in Leighton Buzzard
Started as a joke in 1987 when United Counties became Luton & District.
As you may know we had various names Aylesbury Bus, Luton Bus. Hitchin Bus,
Buzza then Hoppenstopper. These buses being painted blue & white with a
large rabbit on the side. L.B.T being odd that as well as the mini bus
version had two Leyland Nationals painted in the same livery as fleet no’s
488,572. Also at the start of L&D we had two Bristol R.E.S.L’s in "Buzza"
livery these being ANV 421J BRP 425K
The joke! started with the schedule officer at the time non other than
a certain Neil Roughton, He’s been around along time!
We just had a re-block and as a laugh over the phone, I joked with him
and suggested L.B.T it’s stuck since then, We even had a set of
duties with our name in place of Aylesbury Garage.
