We have been notified by First Great Western at Oxford Rail Station that on Saturday 10th March there will be some lane closures and general disruption at Oxford Station due to the removal of a tower crane on the adjacent building construction site.
This does not directly affect the 280 stand and stop but there could be other buses using the stand and stop if there stand is closed off; plus there will possibly be more than the usual amount of cars and private hire vehicles using our stop, so there could be some problems with stopping and congestion within the station forecourt.
Due to e closure of West Street in Dunstable for re-surfacing, service 61 will be diverted as follows:-
Overnight from 22:00 to 06:00 – Monday 5th March to Saturday 10th March
Saturday 10 March until 18:00
Service towards Luton Airport will divert off West street via left: Chiltern Road, right: Union Street: right: High Street North: left Church Street and as normal
Service towards Aylesbury will divert off Church Street and main crossroads traffic lights right: High Street North, left: Union Street: left Chiltern Road, right: West Street and normal route.
The first bus on Monday to Friday should arrive a couple of minutes before the road is opened at 0600 – however it is expected the road will be open by this time, but if not probably better for this journey to wait until the road is opened and then carry on as normal.
Young people’s concessionary travel scheme
If you are a resident of Buckinghamshire aged 16 or 17 you’re able to take advantage of discounted bus travel with the Make More Citizen Card. The proof of age card entitles you to travel on buses for £1 single trip.
From 20th February this scheme is changing. Single fares will now be £1.20 with certain journeys going up to £1.50. Journeys travelling outside of Buckinghamshire will no longer be discounted.
This is the first increase to fares since the start of this scheme in May 2007. The decision reflects the need to manage a limited budget whilst still providing an accessible discount scheme for 16 and 17 year olds.
In addition to reduced bus fares, card holders can now benefit from a range of other discounts through the Lealta Discount Scheme saving them money at participating shops. To find out how to claim please go to www.citizencard.com/cclealta
To benefit from this scheme, please fill in the application form below and return to your school or college office. If your Make More Citizen Card is lost or stolen, please fill in the Replacement Card application form at the bottom of this page and return to your school, college or to the above address.
