UPDATE – TEMPORARY RE-LOCATED BUS STOP, TURL STREET/OXFORD HIGH STREET – SERVICES 280 & X8

Due to a filming company using a cherry picker to take film through an outside window into Lincoln College, the 280 and X8 bus stop in Oxford High Street at Turl Street, [i.e. Aylesbury-bound], will be closed all day on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd September.

An alternative bus stop and no waiting zone will be created to allow room for our services to stop and pick up on the area between Scrivens Opticians and the bus stop outside Brasenose College – normally used by the Sightseeing Tour buses.

Oxford High Street – Temporary bus stop closure – 22/23 Sept 2016

SERVICE 280: CLOSURE OF THAME HIGH STREET FOR THAME FAIR

As usual, Thame Fair will take place next week and will effect service 280.

The High Street and North Street will be closed from 07.00 in some documents and 14.00 in other documents on Wednesday 14th September, all day on Thursday, Friday & Saturday 15th, 16th & 17th September and until midday on Sunday 18th September. The document from Oxon CC that mentions a 07.00 closure does point out the time has changed this year – whereas the document from Thame Town Council just says closed from 16.00 but refers specifically to buses so this may well mean that only buses can access the High Street between 000 and 1600 on the Wednesday?

Service 280 will need to divert in both directions via Bell Lane between the Police Station roundabout and the Lower High Street. Buss tops at High Street and North Street in both directions will therefore not be served.

CLOSURE OF AYLESBURY ROAD, THAME – SERVICE 280 DIVERSION

Aylesbury Road in Thame will be closed for re-surfacing between 20:00 and 06:00 the following morning on Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th & early on Wednesday 14th September 2016.

Service 280 will need to divert and the bus stops at Queens Close / CPM will not be served.

From Thame Town hall buses use North Street and stop at the police station as usual then divert up Bell Lane, right into the High Street, Oxford Road and the Thame by-pass to reach the A418 and normal route to Aylesbury. Towards Oxford from the A418 via the Thame by-pass, Oxford Road, High Street, left at the roundabout into Bell Lane then straight across at the next roundabout into North Street and normal route to Thame, Co-op etc to Oxford.

Buses from 20.00 ex Aylesbury through to last bus plus possibly 0515 ex Aylesbury and 0530 ex Thame the following morning will need to divert;

Two road closure for this weekend in Buckinghamshire:-

Two road closure for this weekend in Buckinghamshire:-

a) Service 300 has Main Road in Naphill closed for re-surfacing from 09.30 to 16.00 each day on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September. Diversions coming from Aylesbury: normal to Walters Ash then right into Bradenham Woods Lane, left onto A4010, West Wycombe Road and Oxford road direct into High Wycombe Bus Station. Reverse of this diversion on the way back to Aylesbury. So no 300 service during these times in Oxford Street and Hughenden Road in High Wycombe, Hughenden valley, Naphill and part of Walters Ash.

b) Service 280 Sunday 4th September: Haddenham, Fort End closed for Thames Water manhole works from 10.00 until 13.00. Diversion towards Oxford from Woodways, left into Churchway at the Pond Xroads, right at the bottom by the green into Station Road, RIGHT into Thame Road back to Haddenham & Thame Station forecourt and then as normal. Reverse of this back from Oxford.

SERVICE 280: CLOSURE OF PART OIF LONDON ROAD, WHEATLEY + TEMP TRAFFIC LIGHTS IN CHURCH ROAD

London Road in Wheatley, between the junctions of Old London Road and Old London Road, will be closed for re-surfacing from Monday 25th July for an anticipated three days. Thus service 280 will need to divert in both directions via Old London Road in both directions and bus stops at The Avenue and Ambrose Rise will not be served.

So overall in Wheatley I would think we can probably expect delays for the forthcoming few weeks.

LEIGHTON BUZZARD TOWN SERVICES 32/34/35: CLOSURE OF CHURCHILL ROAD

From 08.00 until 18.00 on Monday 18th July through to Friday 22nd July, Churchill Road in Leighton Buzzard will be closed for road re-surfacing works.

Services 34 and 35 plus evening peak journeys on service 32 will therefore be unable to serve this road and will need to divert via Clarence Road thereby omitting Churchill Road and Nelson Road.

More 10 of 23 EDLESBOROUGH & EATON BRAY CARNIVALS: SATURDAY 2nd JULY

On Saturday 2nd July 2016 between 11.30 and 13.30, the roads through Edlesborough and Eaton Bray will be closed for the two villages annual carnivals, so service 61 will need to divert.

Journeys at 12.05 ex Aylesbury and 12.00 ex Dunstable will need to divert. The 10.30 ex Aylesbury should just get through if running on time.

Diversion from Aylesbury: at Travellers rest roundabouts go straight ahead along B489; at next roundabout turn left into Harling Road then second right into Dunstable Road, ahead into church Road and right at the end back onto normal route at Totternhoe, Church End.

Diversion from Dunstable: at Totternhoe Church End, turn left into Church Road at the sharp bend and drop off anyone for Totternhoe, then straight ahead along Church Road that becomes Dunstable Road, left at the end into Harling Road then right at the roundabout onto the B489, then straight ahead at the Travellers Rest roundabout back onto normal route.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS: HEADINGTON – SERVICE 280

Due to Thames Water sewer repairs there will be temporary traffic lights in London Road at Headington 24 hours a day from Monday 27th June until Friday 15th July. These will be manually controlled by two traffic marshals from 07.00 until 19.00 each day.

I would anticipate that these temporary lights are going to result in delays to service 280.
